Asset freeze and prohibition to make funds available, Restrictions on admission

- All assets of the listed persons and entities should be frozen. It is also prohibited to make any funds or assets directly or indirectly available to them; - Member States shall enforce travel restrictions on persons listed in the Annex of Council Decision 2010/638/CFSP.

In response to the violent crackdown by security forces on political demonstrators in Conakry on 28 September 2009, targeted restrictive measures were first introduced on 27 October 2009. The measures included an arms embargo, an asset freeze and a travel ban against the members of the government. On 22 December 2009, the Council of the EU introduced additional restrictive measures in view of the seriousness of the situation in the Republic of Guinea, prohibiting the supply of equipment which might be used for internal repression. In view of the positive developments in the country, restrictions were eased on 14 April 2014 and the embargo on arms and on equipment which might be used for internal repression was lifted.
