Pumps capable of circulating solutions of concentrated or dilute potassium amide catalyst in liquid ammonia (KNH2/NH3), having all of the following characteristics: a. Airtight (i.e., hermetically sealed); b. A capacity greater than 8.5 m 3 /h; and c. Either of the following characteristics: 1. For concentrated potassium amide solutions (1% or greater), an operating pressure of 1.5 to 60 MPa; or 2. For dilute potassium amide solutions (less than 1%), an operating pressure of 20 to 60 MPa.
